Presence

Vermont Studio Center site-responsive installation.

Inspired by this wonderfully 80s carpet I created an installation responding to the house I was living in. I was thinking about sculptural interventions, domestic class identification, and abolition.

I timed the wrapping of the chairs to the length of 4 public talks by Dr. Ruth Wilson Gilmore. The projection included an invented conversation between Gilmore and Noam Chomsky, creating a dialogue between anarchist theory and abolitionist practice.
